“I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I WAS TRYING TO DO                                                                                        WHAT WAS RIGHT.”

Reflection:

Dean smith
Dean smith really seems like an amazing guy. What I think is outstanding is how it’s the people that don’t seek attention are always the one to receive the greatest awards and respect. Dean smith always choose the right and he set the perfect role model for all of us. In how choosing the right grerat things will always come your way just like they did to Dean. Dean was loved and respected by all people he was an honest and fair man. His quote in my opinion is amazing. It tells us how just simply choosing the right not seeking anything in return you get re paid the most marvelous things a person could ever have witch is people that care about you and love.

                Volunteer Opportunities

Opportunities:

Volunteer contributions are an invaluable part of the Supportive Care Medicine team.
Every prospective volunteer in Cedars-Sinai's Supportive Care Medicine is carefully interviewed and screened by Volunteer Services to identify an individual's strengths and determine where that person would make the most positive contribution. Volunteers possess many skills and life experiences, which are carefully matched to the needs of patients, families and significant others.
Volunteers undergo a carefully planned training program before interacting with Supportive Care Medicine patients and family members. Volunteers understand that giving of themselves is reciprocated by the warm appreciation from patients, family and the Supportive Care Medicine staff.
Volunteers are needed to:
  • Visit patients and families in the hospital
  • Help with special projects
  • Reach out to bereaved individuals and families
To learn more about volunteering, please contact Volunteer Services at 310-423-8044.

Love Blankets are a joint program of the Supportive Care Medicine Team and Volunteer Services. Blankets are hand-made, either through knitting or crocheting by volunteers. These blankets are beautiful gifts, bringing extra warmth and love to our patients and their loved ones. The blankets are delivered by a Supportive Care Medicine team member to the patient’s room, and typically laid on the patient. The family is then encouraged to keep the blanket as a memento of their loved one, when they pass away. If you know how to knit or crotchet and would like to start volunteering to make blankets, please contact 310-423-8044 if your intreastead. http://www.cedars-sinai.edu/Patients/Programs-and-Services/Supportive-Care-Medicine/Supportive-Care-Medicine-Volunteer-Opportunities.aspx

We Need the courage to start and                                                   continue what we should            do, and the courage to stop what we                                                                      shouldn’t do.’

Richard L. Evans
Reflection:

Well yeah most people dont have the courage it takes to say no to whats wrong. I believe that most people are tempted by there friends and fear what there friends might say if they dont do what there friends arent doing and that is why many people decide to choose the wrong. Also we dont need just the courage to say no to the wrong but to finish and do what we need to do. Most people start thing get lazy and end up leaving things done halfway. We need to Recognize are responsibilities and go out help other instead of being home lazy doing nothing.

Paul Hatch

Well it’s a very interesting topic actually lies come in many different ways some people lie because they’ve done something wrong with there trying to cover with lies. Others lie to protect from painful truths, and finally there’s the people that lie when there trying to surprise someone. However the most common lie we get is the one wear someone has done something wrong, there feeling guilty for it and tell a lie to cover it and try to make themselves feel better witch then makes things much worst. When telling a lie doesn’t matter what is it there is no truth to prove your lie there for you need to tell another lie to cover your first one witch then lead to a whole chain of lies. You thought you were in trouble when you did that witch you weren’t supposed to well buy your an a whole lot of trouble now for telling so many lies. That’s why it’s always better to tell the truth because you’ll be in less trouble than before. Besides that believe or not lies can be very dangerous, depends on what kind of lie you tell some can lead to horrible causes including death. So remember be a CTR person and always tell the truth 100 percent.

                                                              Winter Break

What I did this winter break? Wasn’t much but hey at least I got some time to chill back with family. One of the things I did the most I’m not gunner lie is sleep id probably sleep 15 hours a day. I love how it started raining I know other may not really favor the rain but I absolutely love it. Everyone’s inside trying to keep warm with blankets watching movies and drinking hot chocolate. I love the grey sky in my opinion it’s a beautiful picture when it rains. I also played many video games, in my bedroom on my PlayStation I watch tons of YouTube videos on things that I want to learn more about. For Christmas we went to Mexico and on the way there the clock strikes 12:00 my mother completely surprised when she pulled over at a gas station and handed me an iPhone 6s I was so thrilled I hugged her and said thanks mom. I did watch a couple movies including star wars in 3D at the Chinese theater in down town L.A. with I absolutely loved. I spent time watching some of my favorite television shows including the flash the arrow and Gotham. Unfortenlly the walking dead has not started playing again. I did watch a soccer game on television in were my grandpa was disappointed because his team was losing. Luckily for me the whole winter I was completely free of doing any Homework. Besides that my Christmas break was amazing it couldn’t have gone better.
